2026.06.08 version: 3.5.15 - Android 5.0+

This release is a maintenance update of the Android application. Updating Tigermeeting on Android 5.0+ devices is optional and can be done easily from the Admin App.

Improvements:

- In hybrid Exchange environments that combine Exchange on‑premises servers and Exchange Online, certain edge cases may require extended certificate‑chain validation when using Exchange calendars. No other calendars are affected.

- A growing number of Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick deployments—used as overview screens—made it necessary for Tiger application to extend support for Fire TV devices on the Amazon Appstore.

- Tigermeeting has introduced the Tiger Validated Display certification program, which ensures that certified display manufacturers provide seamless meeting‑room integration with full functionality — including LED indicators, NFC, GPIO, and more.

2026.05.31 - version: 3.4.4 - (aka the Blue Moon release)

This release is a feature release. We strongly recommend that all customers upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK to enjoy the listed features and improved stability, especially as this is easily done via the Admin App.

New features:

- Added support for Honeywell, Datalogic and Urovo tablets with integrated scanners

- Added full support for uInk, Milesight, Mimo monitors, CnHopeStar, MIO-LCD manufacturers' devices

- Added support for ChiperLab, Opticon and Datalogic USB scanners

- Added dual screen support - allowing ceiling, hanging and perpendicular wall placements on corridors

- Added themes to support the ceiling, hanging and perpendicular wall placements of the screens

- Added support for the secondary screen rotation on the Rockchip devices

- Add "Copy to clipboard" functionality for the device info and the screenshots

- Customer request: company logo resolution upgraded from 120x60px to 300x130px image size allowing higher resolution images with more details and wider format ratio of 3:1.3 

- Customer request: Overview screen pagination, if there are more than 10 rooms configured

Improvements:

- Improved the booking and overview front‑end memory and CPU usage, which significantly increases screen responsiveness during user interactions — especially noticeable on older, less powerful displays. 

- zigbee_reset LED controller now supports older devices too, that are capable to handle just 7 colors

- Android keyboard: the buttons tactile feedback on touch showing that the touch actually happen

- Admin application: branding for Honeywell, Urovo, Zebra, Sunmi, Datalogic, Amlogic, Droidlogic devices

- Customer request: the overview screen layout is improved to fit all standard 16:9 widescreen formats

- Customer request: the overview screen shows 10 rooms on a page (previously 9)

- Customer request: choose between meeting title or organizer on the overview screen

- Enable/disable logo on the overview screen

- Recognize ELC as Electron manufacturer

- Completed the Portworld YC103RT model integration with NFC and GPIO controls

Bugs fixed:

- Older screens with 1Gb RAM and slow CPUs (like IAdea XDS-1078) were very slow during on screen booking

- Android keyboard: the button color followed the theme, that made sometimes the letters were hard to read

- Fixed the issue when the screen during booking returned too early to the home screen

- Overview screen: the tiny white stripe from the bottom of the screen is removed

- Overview screen - map view with built-in customer image and room polygon editor

- Native CalDAV support - A new level of flexibility is on the way opening door for Zextras Carbonio, Carbonio CE, Zimbra, IceWarp and Skedda calendar integrations.

Note:

The Android 4 version has reached end‑of‑life. It remains supported for critical compatibility, but no new features are added to that branch. We strongly recommend migrating to devices running Android 5 or higher to ensure full functionality and long‑term support.


2026.04.24 version: 3.4.3 - (aka the Sisu release)

This release is a feature release. We strongly recommend that all customers upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK to enjoy the listed features and improved stability, especially as this is easily done via the Admin App.

New features:

- Added support for Lark and Feishu 飞书 calendars

- Seamless Android application update support for more devices

- RoomService QR code readability is improved, and a default landing page containing instructions has been added

- Android: MinifyResources and ShrinkResources are enabled by default

- Outside of the "Screen ON Interval", the screen's display is actually switched off - on devices that have support for switching off the screen - instead of showing a "black screen". This significantly reduces energy consumption outside of operating hours.

- Translations: the Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese on screen text transaltions have been improved

- Android system messages are on the configured local language  

- Android keyboard layout is aligned with the screen's configured language

Bugs fixed:

- Google Calendar: in some cases, two rooms were created instead of one

- Local Calendar: meeting sharing between devices and the cross-bookings are corrected

- Multi-day events were shown incorrectly on the booking and overview screens

- In some cases, the device could not be deleted from the network list

- Overview screen: the available room list is was not sorted

- Overview screen: 12h (AM/PM) layout was not looking nice

- Android 11+ showing keyboard issues were fixed

2025 winter version: 3.4.2 - (internal release)

This release is an internal release used for documentation and Admin app features' A-B testing. It has never been officially released.


2025.09.07 version: 3.4.1 - (aka Onam release - ഓണം)

This release is a feature release. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK to enjoy the listed features and the improved stability - as this is easily done from the Admin App.

New features:

- Implementing the virtual Brand and virtual Network concept that allows more network flexibility

- Support for Newland devices' scanners, NFC and GPIO features used for authentication and access control

- Support for Sinmar serial RFID reader with GPIO features used for authentication and door opening

- Support for Insovision screens

- Tigermeeting has been accepted on the Korean OneStore  

- Customer request: Enable / disable company logo per device

- Customer request: File Store - personal file storage for iCalendar files, video files and other related artifacts 

Improvements:

- The Microsoft helper script has been improved to cover complex organizational structures

- Android devices' license check and management is enhanced

- Polish, Spanish, Russian and Arabic languages are polished and adjusted 

- Documentation is translated to Japanese and Russian

- Tigermeeting infrastructure is now White Label aware

- Admin app help will show the latest available Admin manual

Bugs fixed:

- Google Play version had an issue affecting devices running Android version 14 and higher - it was fixed in few hours.

- Issues around presenting the correct weather data have been solved and the weather proxy is improved.

- Do not use LED controls on iiyama and Philips devices that do not have LED lights at all

Note:

- Android 4 devices do not require Android APK upgrade. This release does not contain any Android 4 related changes.

- Android 4 version is still supported, but no new features will be merged in that branch.

Upgrade instructions for all who have not upgraded to the 3.4.0 release:

- The 3.4.0 release crossed an Android API boundary (from API 34 to API 36), that on some devices may force the user to grant the needed Tiger app permissions (again). The "storage", "draw over other apps" and "allow from the source" permissions are the most important.  


2025.07.07 version: 3.4.0 - (aka Tanabata release - 七夕)

This release is a feature release. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK to enjoy the listed features and the improved stability - as this is easily done from the Admin App.

New features:

- Support for Levinko and Newland brands

- Support for Android Smart TV and Android TV sticks

- Weather service showing temperature and humidity

- Room service - initiate orders from the screen

- Scanner and NFC / RFID authentication functionality

- Door opening, authentication and access control system 

- Customer request: portrait mode is again supported with selected themes

- Customer request: Screen on/off interval - switch off the screens over the night

- Factory reset, Clear data / Clear cache, Open the door from the Admin app

Improvements:

- Admin app network discovery is significantly improved and became much faster

- Improved support for iiyama, TouchWo and SwedX brands

- Improved the Tiger application storage usage and housekeeping

- Admin app: screenshot now supports both portrait and landscape screenshots without distortion 

- Microsoft helper script has been improved and made more flexible 

- Android application is now compliant with Android version 16 (API 36) and backwards compatible to version 5 (API 21)

Bugs fixed:

- Admin app: ProDVX API key configuration is extended

- Video player did not start on certain ProDVX models (read the Admin manual for troubleshooting and fix)

- Android 4 devices do not require Android APK upgrade. This release does not contain any Android 4 related changes.

2025.03.17 version: 3.3.9 - (aka Paddy release)

This release is a feature release. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK to enjoy the listed features and the improved stability - this is easily done from the Admin App.

New features:

- Support for AOPEN, Allsee, iiyama, Sinmar, ELC, TouchWo and AISpeech brands

- Native support for the wide range of Rockchip and ShiMeta chipsets

- Native support for Rockchip zigbee socket, two side, jnielc 7 color, jnielc RGB, serial and event devices

- Native support for the ShiMeta SMT SDK 

- Start the Android settings in maintenance mode on supported devices 

- Customer request: Option to remove the "powered by Tiger" branding in all skins/themes

2024.12.12 version: 3.3.8 (aka Lucia release)

This release is a feature release. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK to enjoy the listed features and the improved stability - this is easily done from the Admin App.

New features:

- Software/APK upgrade for IAdea devices is supported from now

- Full support for the Qbic and Allnet devices

- Full support for the new Philips 10BDL5051T and 10BDL3353T devices

- Support for TECNO, ITEL and INFINIX brands

- Customer request: Choose different themes and background images for every device

- Customer request: Enable the video player on the overview screens

- Mauritius Creole language is added

Bugs fixed:

- Admin app: Room capacity should not be editable with Microsoft 365 calendar

- Admin app: Read pagination is added while loading enormous Google Workspace room resource lists   

- Android app: Tablets accessed too often the Exchange server calendar resources

- Android app: The edit (pen) image on the booking screen was just partly visible 

Note:

- Android 4 devices do not require Android APK upgrade to enjoy the new features. Upgrading the Admin app is sufficient.  

Teaser:

- booking groups feature: large installations where the roomlists are not used, screens can be in different buildings or unreachable locations. Showing “available rooms“ could be a long irrelevant list of the rooms that might be at far, remote distances. Creating booking groups and assigning devices to a group would make the “available rooms“ list always localized and relevant.
- grouping can be reused for the configuration as well. 


2024.07.04 version: 3.3.6 - Android 5.0+

This release is a maintenance release. It is strongly recommended for all customers running Tigermeeting on Android 5.0+ devices to upgrade the Android APK to enjoy the improved stability - this is easily done from the Admin App.

If you haven't updated the Admin App to the latest 3.3.6 version. Please, do that.

Improvements:

- Starting June 17, 2024, Google users got more granular controls for sharing their Google account data with third-party apps - like Tigermeeting. The necessary adjustments had been made.

- Recently updated Google Play Policies required Tigermeeting to perform changes in order to comply to the new regulatory requirements.

- Microsoft365 helper script: It has been made an attempt to force the synchronization between the PowerShell API and Azure Apps. This is a common Microsoft problem. Please, read more about in the Admin user manual.

- Entering Asian markets required adjustments in Unicode handling in order to support special local character sets.  

- Italian translation is improved

Bugs fixed:

- Some Samsung and Philips models running Android versions between 6 and 9 showed instability with 3.5.2-438 release in the Tigermeeting QA environment. This behavior has not been observed in the production yet. Deep analysis revealed incompatibility with the latest Apache Commons IO library.  A stable version of the library has been applied to improve stability on those devices.

- Overview screen: Many, very short subsequent meetings jammed the "meeting start" and "meeting ended" time presentations.   


2024.05.31 version: 3.3.6

This release is a feature release. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK to enjoy the listed features and the improved stability.

New features:

- Full support for the IAdea and Aurora Multimedia devices

- Approval from Amazon, HUAWEI, OPPO, VIVO and Xiaomi for compatibility on their devices and presence on respective app stores and software distribution channels.

- Admin App: device info and network reboot functionalities are added

Improvements:

- Filipino and traditional Chinese languages are added

- New theme is added 

- Improved ProDVX screen compatibility

- Overview screen: scalability is improved to include 4K screen sizes

- Android application: screenshot has been generalized to cover almost every device 

- Android application: enable software upgrade for wide range of screen manufacturers

- Android application: on customer demand the support for Android 4.1 - 4.4 devices is improved and all new features from the Android 5+ branch have been merged back - lifting the old Android devices to the current master functionality level.

- Architectural changes that optimize broadcast communication between the devices, reduce message size by 90% - improving screen discovery on the network and operational robustness - especially, scalability on large installations.

Bugs fixed:

- Cloud certificates are updated in order to support older Android devices

- LOCAL calendar - used only for demo purposes - was not functional

- iCalendar: in some cases did not remove the error message after a network error

- in certain race conditions the booking-screen showed "in progress" message

2024.03.18 version: 3.3.4

This release is a feature release. It is strongly recommended for all customers running devices with Android version 5 or higher to upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK to enjoy the listed features and the improved stability.

New features:

- ProDVX introduces a universal API that is free of charge and will span across ProDVX Android-based products. This API simplifies the integration process, allowing seamless communication between ProDVX Android devices and other systems. The ProDVX API ensures a cohesive and interconnected ecosystem.

Tigermeeting Android application has a full support for the ProDVX API making the ProDVX devices shine and perform better than ever.

- Innovative LED backlights controls have been enabled, allowing the following advanced options to be chosen on a supported devices with LED bars:

  • All OFF – all LEDs are turned off
  • All ON – all available LEDS are turned on
  • Only sides – only the LEDs on the screen left and right sides are lit
  • Only top – only the LED stripe on the screen’s top is used
  • Only bottom – only the LED stripe on the screen’s bottom is used
  • Only corners – only the screen corners are lit
  • The LED bars luminance/brightness can be set between Low, Medium, and High.
  • LED color choice spans over the full RGB color range  

(So far only a very limited number of screens are able to handle all these options – a good example is the excellent ProDVX APPC-10SLBE screen)

Improvements:

- Albanian and Azerbaijani languages are added

- All themes got the logo enlarged 

- The Admin app user manual and the Android installation manual are updated and significantly improved

- New event: "device-added" is introduced for manual ADD DEVICE

- Analytics has been improved

Bugs fixed:

- Admin App: Reset password did not work in some cases

- Admin App: "Add device" got a graceful error handling writing to the log file instead of the console

Deprecation note:

- Maintaining the software for devices running the 10+ years old Android 4.x versions take huge effort - while the  diminishing customer base does not justify its existence - from the business perspective. Therefore, Tigermeting has decided to sunset the Android 4 branch. From now on, no new features will be implemented or merged to the Android 4 branch.

The current Android 4 APK is not withdrawn - it is functional and supported - but no new feature releases are to be expected from the Android 4 branch.

- The Admin App is backwards compatible.

Teaser:

- Full support - including reboot, screenshot, LED control... - for the Aurora multimedia and the IAdea screens are coming soon.


2024.01.24 version: 3.3.3

This release is a feature release. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK to enjoy the listed features and the improved stability.

New features:

- Different and mixed environments: based on the customers' feedback there is a need to support different environments. There are many different resources that could be booked and managed with calendars. Schools have meeting rooms in the office spaces while classrooms are all over in the buildings. Offices have both bookable desks and conference rooms. Some schools have bookable cabinets. We have a solution. Use the same Tigermeeting infrastructure in different or mixed environments. In the offices book meeting rooms; in schools show classrooms' timetables; while you could book tables, desks or cabinets if needed. Freely combine and use different (Android) devices that fit best the given environment and purpose.

- Google Play release: from this release Tigermeeting can be downloaded from Google Play, as well, for all devices running Android 5.0 and higher. This release is identical with the APK available via the Admin app for devices running Android version 5.0 and higher. 

Google Play

- Enable or disable remote booking on devices: It is possible now to enable booking on the device for this meeting room, but booking meetings for remote meeting rooms is disabled.   

Improvements:

- Language translations have been improved and adjusted.

- The booking screen themes are reviewed and corrected the spacing between the elements 

- Android: the libraries are updated to the latest releases and the deprecated ones are removed. AndroidX is used to increase stability, modularity and reduce the APK and the Android Bundle size.

- There are two branches of the Android apps:

      a) APK via Admin app only for Android 4.1+ kept only for the backwards compatibility reasons

      b) APK via Admin App and Google Play for Android 5.0+ (up to 14 currently).  

- Admin App: increased the allowed theme background image size from 900kb to 5Mb.

- Tigermeeting private cloud has moved to a modern data-center in Germany that is able to provide much higher performance, wider broadband, improved monitoring and security.

Bugs fixed:

- Admin App: Microsoft 365 re-authentication and reload roomlist in some cases did not work as expected, forcing the admin to attach the calendar again.

- Android: "Find available rooms" listing looked ugly in some cases.

- Translations: The problem is solved with the Hungarian and other languages that use suffixes instead of prefixes ("until 12pm" -> "12pm -ig" and not "-ig 12pm"). Please, let us know if your native language has this problem.   


2023.09.20 version: 3.3.1

This release is a bug-fix release. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK.

Improvements:

- APK: All Tigermeeting themes scale on any device, independently from device's screen size

- APK: The "booking screen", "find available room" and the "fire alarm" screens fit to all screen sizes

- Analytics: is taking the devices' model and brand into the consideration when creating the usage and business reports.

Bugs fixed:

- APK: introduced in 3.3.0, the "Cancel" button was shown when meeting cancellation was disabled. 

- APK: some android devices' - other than Philips - screen turned black after the inactivity time.

- APK: time displayed in 12h format (am/pm) did not follow the theme's style looking ugly on the screen

- APK: when the Analytics feature was enabled but the traffic to the cloud service was blocked (by a firewall for example) - the devices queued up the events that caused memory problems. From 3.3.1 the queued events are discarded after 24h. 

- Admin app: device "edit properties" screen did not show the right image considering the device model and brand 

Known issues:

- Since the introduction of the themes with full support and scalability on arbitrary Android devices, Tigermeeting APK runs in landscape mode only in order to guarantee the meaningful appearance. 

Teaser:

- Customers keep asking for a "service" button with functionalities: clean up the room, bring office supply, and report equipment issues. This will be implemented.


2023.08.24 version: 3.3.0

This release is a feature release. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK to enjoy the listed features - otherwise upgrade is not needed.

New feature: support for arbitrary android devices

During the past years, the customers have often asked, do we support any other Android devices but Philips'?

From this release, Tigermeeting APK supports other than Philips hardware providers' Android devices. Old and new mobile phones, tablets, android screens - most of the devices running Android (4.4 and higher) with screen resolution that is at least 400px wide.

Tigermeeting's primary choice is still the Philips meetingroom devices - because of the built-in status led bars, burn-in protection as well for the premium hardware and service quality... however supporting other major Android device manufacturers, satisfies customers' own hardware preferences that open up for emerging markets that may optimize on price and other customer specific aspects.

On request - bespoke themes can be crafted and enabled for the dedicated customers. Also, if current themes do not scale properly on specific Android devices - a bespoke project could push forward the solution faster. Please, ask the Tigermeeting support for more information.  

Improvements:

- Admin app: major Android device manufacturers got their own icons in the "Network" list (like Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Lenovo, Amazon and of course Philips)

- The Default theme is fully scalable on the majority of the available devices - from old Android phones to modern 15" tablets 

- Tigermeeting paid support subscription is enabled for distributors, resellers and major customers that need 24/7 meetingroom support from Tigermeeting's technically competent experts. The global support is available on seven languages.

Bugs fixed:

- Grater than 1Mb background image uploads could not be handled by the backend in the cloud. The image size has been reduced to 900Kb in order to fit into the 1Mb limit even after the encryption.

Known issues:

- Currently just the Default theme scales on arbitrary Android devices. Other themes work but the text may be jammed. Our teams continue to work on porting and adding visual scaling support for other Android devices for the other themes - but this development process is seamless - as improving, updating and adding new themes do not require software update. 

Teaser:

- Having support for all available Android devices is impossible - but using advanced technology that allows support for most of the different screen sizes, opens up possibilities to use older Android phones, tablets and less expensive brands that would make the Tigermeeting solution even more affordable - aiming for the best TCO for a meeting room management products in the World.

New feature: different themes support on the booking screens

During the past four years the customers have often asked, if it would be possible to change the default theme on the booking screens?

We are proud to announce that the previously negative answer is now: yes - from this release, Tigermeeting suite allows customers to change the booking-screen's home screen layout by changing the theme, the background image and the company logo - making the devices' appearance personal and branded.

At the moment there are six different themes to choose from - the default, that we have seen until now and five others, inspired by our excellent designers and customer ideas around the world.

New themes will be continuously and dynamically added - on demand or when new design ideas arise - without any need for software upgrade.

On request - bespoke themes can be crafted and enabled for the dedicated customers. Ask the Tigermeeting support for more information.  

Improvements:

- Event logging has been improved

- Analytics: the graph appearance is refreshed with nice color palette

- Analytics: data export and printing have been improved

- Admin app: many cosmetics changes have been applied 

Bugs fixed:

- sometimes the "in progress" text appeared for a while in the place of the "room name"

- error handling for Microsoft 365 meetings booked from the screen   

- occasionally the iCal configured devices appeared as "Not assigned" in the Admin App

- in certain race conditions, the devices were not reporting the available upgrade in the Admin App    

Teaser:

- The next feature release will include support for other than Philips hardware providers. Tigermeeting's primary choice is still Philips meetingroom devices - because of the built-in status led bars, burn-in protection as well for the premium hardware and service quality... however supporting other major Android device manufacturers, satisfies customers' own hardware preference that opens up for other emerging markets that may optimize on customer specific aspects.

- The "Theme editor" is not included in the Admin App - but this feature is already added to the strategic product roadmap.

New feature: iCalendar support

Huge customer demand is satisfied with the Tigermeeting iCalendar implementation. It is a simple and convenient way to expose pre-generated iCal files in a format that complies to the RFC 5545 specification via an ordinary web server. This is a very efficient and cost effective way of distributing a huge number of relatively static calendars that suit well for school and university operations' use case.

iCalendar files are most often created by one of the widely available iCalendar generator programs. Tigermeeting's flexible design allows replacing and updating the iCal files. As long as the URL pointing to the file does not change, the room configuration does not need to be updated. 
This feature opens a new era in cost effective meeting room management for all those customers who cannot appreciate or are not willing to pay high costs for a commercial online calendar service (like Google's or Microsoft's)

Improvements:

- Detecting, blocking and logging failed admin logins and brute force login attempts

- Seven new languages are added - among them Slovak, Slovenian and Indonesian

- Language translations have been reviewed and improved

- Analytics: the engine became faster and new charts have been added

- Booking device "Home screen" got more visible meeting titles

- the Android APK upgrade process became more stable   

- the Android event queue management was improved 

Bugs fixed:

- in some cases with Microsoft 365 calendar the meeting title was not shown

- Microsoft 365/Exchange helper script did not handle MFA authentication

- potential memory leak was found and corrected

- the meeting-auto-confirmed event was sent more than once

- Google Workspace sent more than once the meeting-ended event

- the Windows and the Mac Admin app installers are properly signed

This release is a maintenance, bug-fix release. No new major features are delivered. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade the Admin App and the Android APK.

Microsoft Exchange Server support

Tigermeeting removed the on-premises Exchange Server support in 2.0.0 release. But listening on customers' demamd and based on Microsoft's article, the support for the on-premises Exchange Server has been restored and improved. The Exchange calendar implementation - based on EWS - enjoys most of the online counterpart - Graph API's and hybrid installation's features.

Android 4 support - one Tigermeeting APK for all devices

Android 4 support was deprecated from 2.0.0 version.
But many customers asked for the support continuation for this platform, therefore Android 4 device has been included into the one Tigermeeting APK. It means, that Android 4 devices will get all upgrades and features that come with the modern Android 5, 7, 8 and 10 based devices and with the new Admin App compatibility. 

Improvements:

- The Android 7 and 8 application stability have been significantly improved.

- Android APK patch versions are shown to reduce confusion during upgrades.

- Admin user login and registration related event logs are added

- Analytics response time and graph creation is improved.

- Useful details have been added to the Admin logs and User details

- customer request: meeting organizer to be displayed.

- customer request: respect private meetings - do not show the title. 

customer request: WAD (Web Accessibility Directive) - Directive on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications also known as Directive (EU) 2016/2102 was adopted by the EU in 2016. Tigermeeting is not obligated like public organizations - but regardless, shows respect to the customers by providing easy screen reader accessibility for Admin App users.

Bugs fixed:

- In certain cases, Windows 11 users could not log in to the Admin App. Windows 11 elevated permissions caused a read-only Admin App working database, that manifested as a login failure. 

- Support for page pagination is implemented in Graph, EWS and Google calendar APIs.

- Sync database sanity check has been implemented 

KNOWN ISSUES

Upgrading to 2.0.0 (and newer) versions includes migration from old, unsigned web apps to new Microsoft and Google verified applications, that require re-authentication. Some customers experienced issues during this process because the web app credentials are cached in the applications, therefore the following procedure is required for Microsoft365, Google Workspace and Google Calendar users:

- In the Admin App Settings->Calendar->DETACH

- In the Admin App "Reset network"

- Close the Admin App window

- Log out your account from the browser 

- Start the Admin App

- In the Admin App Settings->Calendar-> Authenticate with your calendar

- Assign the room resources to the devices

- Make eventual changes

- Sync with devices

- It is recommended to perform a "Backup network" as the old backups would just restore the old web apps - that are not compatible with the new environment. 

Please note, this is a one time procedure.


2023.02.08 Android APK version: 2.0.5

This Android release is a maintenance, bug-fix release. No new features are delivered. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade the Android APK. 
It is as simple as pressing the "UPGRADE ANDROID APPLICATIONS" button in the Admin App.

Microsoft 365 recurring events fix

Recurring events can come in many varieties - some of them were not fetched using the Graph API. Additional API calls and parsing has been added to cover these corner cases.

Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online RoomList handling

Tigermeeting has significantly improved the Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online Roomlist handling helper script by adding the following, non intusive, RoomList management functions:

1. Create a new RoomList with rooms

2. Add rooms to an existing RoomList

3. List rooms in a RoomList

4. List all RoomLists

5. List all rooms

6. Delete a RoomList

7. Delete a room from an existing RoomList

Intrusive room management - creation, deletion, attributes and parameter changes still need to be done in the Microsoft365/Exchange online Admin interface.  

Android 8 cache cleaning issues

Periodic cache cleaning process in the Android 8 devices caused that the application has crashed or restarted in an unpredictabe way.
The root cause is found and the periodic cache purge has been tuned to behave as expected.

Additional events have been added in order to differentiate between the device boot, application start and eventual crash that are traceable via the event logs and the device analytics data.   


2023.01.26 Android APK version: 2.0.4

This Android release is a maintenance, bug-fix release. No new features are delivered. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade the Android APK. 
It is as simple as pressing the "UPGRADE ANDROID APPLICATIONS" button in the Admin App.

Microsoft 365 Graph API response parsing fix

In an edge case when one meeting shared several room resources, the room name got overwritten. This has been corrected and the correct room name is shown.

Android "Home app" and "Draw over other apps" issues

"Android setup manual" describes the USB installation of the APK with required Android permissions. If the required permissions are not granted, the application can suffer different race conditions and the screen appears black or the "Home app" choice is presented. 

From this version the following permissions are required and enforced to choose:

Tiger -> "Home app" -> Yes, ALWAYS

Tiger -> "Draw over other apps" -> Yes

During the manual APK install, these questions will appear on the screen and the technician is able to allow or deny the required permissions. If the permissions are denied the symptoms above may appear from time to time.

All customers are encouraged to check those settings in the Maintenance menu ->System->Apps -> Tiger making sure that both the "Home app" and the "Draw over other apps" have value "Yes".
This is a one time task (that should have been done during the very first Tiger APK installation).

APK upgrades initiated via the Admin App will preserve the earlier app permissions. These upgrades do not have permission to change the "Home app" and the "Draw over other apps" permissions - therefore this needs to be done manually on every screen.

2023.01.21 version: 2.0.3

This release is a maintenance, bug-fix release for the earlier 2.0.1 release. No new features are delivered. It is strongly recommended for all customers to upgrade both the Admin App and the Android APK.

Moving to the verified calendar apps and changing both Google and Microsoft APIs in the same time, created issues in some customer environments. The recent release contains all adjustments for the issues the customers reported in the past two weeks - making the product more robust and able to handle reported edge cases.   

Google Workspace pagination fix

In certain circumstances Google calendar pagination of the API responses created issues on the booking screens - while the overview screens showed the correct bookings.

Google OAuth out-of-band (OOB) Auth end of life

Google reminder: The OAuth out-of-band (OOB) flow will be deprecated on January 31, 2023, to protect the users from phishing and app impersonation attacks. Tigermeeting is compliant but ALL GOOGLE CALENDAR AND GOOGLE WORKSPACE CUSTOMERS MUST UPGRADE TO THE CURRENT RELEASE.

Microsoft 365 delegated permissions 

Microsoft Graph API permissions are fine tuned for the Android application. In some cases the application did not have enough delegated permissions to perform the calendar operations.

Calendar credentials cached issue

Many admins have cached the credentials by their browsers that may create issues when the Tigermeeting Admin App changes the app from a non verified to a verified one. This happens just once and this will not be needed to be performed during next upgrades - but it is necessary to do this time.


2023.01.05 version: 2.0.1

Tigermeeting Google and Azure applications are verified

In order to improve application performance and raising bilateral customer trust - both the Google and the Microsoft Azure applications - that are crucial during permission delegation to Tigermeeting software, in order to perform the required calendar operations on the devices, are now fully certified by the respective vendor.  

EWS to Microsoft365 migration

Microsoft deprecated the EWS API and introduced the more proweful Graph API. The two APIs are not compatible, therefore after downloading the new Admin App, please upgrade the Android APKs and perform a re-authentication.

Microsoft announced the EWS end of life at the announcement . It will continue to work, but no new features are added and users are advised to migrate to Graph API enabled solutions that powers the Microsoft365 and Exchange Online products.     

Google OAuth out-of-band (OOB) Auth is replaced

Google OAuth out-of-band (OOB) flow is deprecated on October 3, 2022.

Tigermeeting and many other companies got an extension - with hard deadline - until February 4, 2023. Therefore, ALL Google Calendar and Google Workspace customers need to re-authenticate by using the new Admin App before that date. (APK upgrade is not needed, but it is recommended to improve the devices' stability)

KNOWN ISSUES

- customer request: iCal implementation is not fully implemented - it will be completed in the next release

- Because of the Android 8.1.0 security improvements, the firmware update does not work from the admin application. It is on the TODO list

- Microsoft Exchange is supported only via Graph API

- Android 7 firmware updates are disabled (as it is in the same APK with Android 8) - in scope for the next sprint.

- Android 4 devices that use Office/Microsoft365 calendar will not be able to use the Admin App v2.0.1 (Google calendar and Google Workspace users are not affected)

- Android 4 devices are not supported any more - they will work with Google calendar environments - but at this stage Tigermeeting does not plan to implement new features on Android 4 devices except if the features are explicitly requested and paid as a bespoke task.


2021.06.01 version: 1.5.0

Android 8.1 support

Tiger has added support for Philips TPV10BDL4551T Android 8.1 devices.

KNOWN ISSUES: Because of the Android 8.1.0 security improvements - setting the timezone and do a firmware update from the admin application are not supported currently for these devices.

It is planned for the next release to solve these issues.


2021.03.25 version: 1.4.9

Office365 OAuth2 improvements

In some corner cases Office365 calendars were unable to reauthenticate their accounts with the new OAuth2 method.
The problem is caused by the setup of the Office365 authentication token scopes.
The authentication process has been improved and the authentication token scopes are reconfigured in order to solve this problem.

Special thanks to Haridus- ja Teadusministeerium admin who nailed down this case and helped with testing.

Office365 Oauth2:

Our previous admin and android applications have used Basic Authentication for Office365 calendar integration. This type of authentication will be disabled by Microsoft in the near future (updates from Microsoft about this issue are expected in Q2 2021). To keep your Tiger application synchronised with your Office365 calendar we implemented the new Oauth2 authentication method. To avoid any disturbances in calendar synchronisation existing users should use the Re-authenticate feature at the calendar settings page and repeat the sign in process. Room and other preferences will be kept intact by the process. New Office365 authentications will use Oauth2 by default.

Improvements:

- More detailed and precise analytics about your devices and rooms bookings which you can view at the Analytics of the admin application - in case the Analytics feature is enabled.
